What is happening?

On Friday 28th November, Sri Lanka was hit by Cyclone Ditwah, bringing extreme rainfall and causing mass flooding and devastation across the island. The Sri Lankan president, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has called it “the largest and most challenging natural disaster in our history.”

Hundreds of lives have been lost, many more people are missing, and tens of thousands of families have been forced from their homes – many seeking refuge in evacuation centres with their dogs and cats, who urgently need food, clean water, and vaccinations to prevent the spread of disease.

Right now, we’re delivering double the number of meals and providing emergency vet care for both street and owned animals. But the impact of this cyclone will be felt for weeks and months to come.

Your support today means we can reach the animals and families who need us most – offering safety, care, and hope in a time of profound crisis.
